Trying to squeeze 30 lots in 6.5 acres by taking advantage of the density bonus laws AB2345 results necessarily in a shocking contrast with existing housing surrounding the project, with new lots sizes averaging approximately 50% of those of existing neighbors. .

This process entails a very serious risk to destroy the rural character of this Old Encinitas neighborhood.  Because of the density bonus laws, MASHE's only recourse is to  request city planners to enforce imaginative architecture and landscaping so that our new neighbors do not run the risk of looking like hey are an isolated ghetto in an other wise airy neighborhood, which has been enjoyed by citizens for well over a half-century.
